Identifying grain color of a specific wood
Once you’ve already made sure it’s real wood, check out the grain color.
Does it appear natural or stained? If it doesn’t look like the former, then it’s most likely man-made.
One more thing to check with regards its color is its patina, the color tarnish that’s indicative of wear, age, and exposure to natural factors.
Most woods tend to darken in color with age.
